What to Pack

Tahiti has a warm climate and a casual island atmosphere, so comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is recommended. All itineraries include lots of time at the beach, so bring multiple swimsuits and sandals or flip-flops for sandy treks onshore.

During the day, swimsuits and sarongs are suitable attire onboard and around the resorts, as are comfortable shirts and shorts. For dinner, men dress in casual slacks and sport shirts, and flowing sundresses are appropriate for women.

Sunscreen, wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses are also important to remember. The sun and beautiful weather are major attractions for Tahiti, but overexposure should be avoided. Bug repellent will come in handy, and don't forget a camera to capture all the majesty of this tropical paradise. Prescription medicines and other necessities should also be packed since staples are sometimes hard to find in a region where almost everything must be imported.
